Featuring the artwork of D. Tom Conboy

Rural Rails Crossing is a collection of my thoughts about the experience of painting rural and railroad scenes. Watercolor is my medium of choice, and my painting style is impressionistic. I am not trying to render a photographic image of the place, but to capture the "mood" of the location.

ACEO: Lonesome Pine

Title: Lonesome Pine*
Type: ACEO** Art Card (2.5 x 3.5 inches)
Medium: Watercolor
Original/Print: Original

I had an idea for a painting and this is the result. I wanted to paint a springtime scene with a lone pine tree standing guard over an old barbed wire fence. I guess the Irish in me was wanting a green painting, because the greens really dominate the painting.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

**ACEO stands for Art Cards, Editions and Originals. They are original paintings, but they are small (only 2.5 by 3.5 inches). An ACEO is a great way to purchase an original piece of artwork at a great price!
