Featuring the artwork of D. Tom Conboy

Rural Rails Crossing is a collection of my thoughts about the experience of painting rural and railroad scenes. Watercolor is my medium of choice, and my painting style is impressionistic. I am not trying to render a photographic image of the place, but to capture the "mood" of the location.

ACEO: Spring's Arrival

Title: Spring's Arrival*
Type: ACEO** Art Card (2.5 x 3.5 inches)
Medium: Watercolor
Original/Print: Original

Plant life is beginning to "wake up" in my neck of the woods. I am looking forward to all the colors of spring! The inspiration for this painting is (of course) the arrival of spring!!

*This painting was sold on July 26, 2011!

**ACEO stands for Art Cards, Editions and Originals. They are original paintings, but they are small (only 2.5 by 3.5 inches). An ACEO is a great way to purchase an original piece of artwork at a great price!

  1. Fantastic watercolour, looks like stained glass. Love the way you've caught the architecture of trees. Saw your interview on Studio of a Novice Artist and had to look in.

  2. Thanks, Peter! I had just purchased a painting knife and used it for the first time on this painting. I love the way it makes trees!

Thanks for taking the time to comment! Your comment is appreciated!!
